|I was born in London 1943 and moved to Loughton Essex in 1945. I Started state schooling 1948 until leaving school in 1958. Where I started work as a darkroom assistant and spent 3 years studying at the London School of Print and Graphic Arts and graduated as a photographer.
In 1963 I am married to my wife Christine and have two boys, Stuart and Steven. Over the next 10 years my work as a photographer progressed through commercial, advertising, fashion and some motion movie works.
At the age of 27 it was time for a change of direction in my life and I started a carpet fitting business. In 1972 we moved from Loughton to Halstead Essex and over the next ten years established our flooring business and moved the business from home to a warehouse on Broton Est Halstead.
It was from here that we established flooring contracts in Russia, Ukraine, Baku in Azerbaijan, Finland, Ethiopia and Europe.
At that time I was asked by the Rotary Club of Halstead to become a member Rotarian, and spent a very rewarding 3 years looking after the community service's section. The time had come and we were ready for a move, and by chance ended up in Toppesfield, what luck. We have now been in Toppesfield for 23 years and have enjoyed every moment.
One cannot help being involved in the village and in village life and Christine and myself look forward to many more years of village life.
